Questions
Questions about water reuse
Do I need a permit?
It depends on the system and your office. We check with your building department before we quote and put the answer in the estimate.
Which drains can feed a greywater system?
The washer, showers, baths and bathroom sinks. Not the toilet, and most systems leave out the kitchen sink.
Can I water vegetables with it?
Not the parts you eat. Greywater goes below the surface to trees, shrubs and ornamentals.
What does a visit cost?
A set fee, which we tell you when you book. If you hire us, it comes off the job.
Will I get a price before you start?
Yes, in writing, as a fixed price for the scope we agreed on.
Do you charge extra for rock or roots?
If we hit something unexpected, we stop and give you the new price in writing before we go on.
Do you do emergency work?
No. We plan and install. Call an emergency plumber for a leak or a backup.
How do I know you are licensed?
The license number is in our footer. Check it on the state board’s site.
Are there rebates?
Some water providers and cities offer them for fixtures, barrels and lawn removal. Rules change, so ask yours before you buy.
Which towns do you work in?
Petaluma and the Sonoma and Marin County towns on the service-area page.
What is a three-way valve for?
It lets you send greywater to the garden or back to the sewer, so you are never stuck with it.
Who looks after the system afterward?
You do, with our one-page sheet. We come back if something is off.
Still have a question?
Call or text, and a person will answer during business hours.
